Black and White Landscape Photography

Black-and-white landscape photography removes the immediate pull of color so that light, weather, texture, and structure become more visible. This collection brings together monochrome photographs of mountains, deserts, prairies, roads, trees, and changing skies by Nathan Larson.

The photographs are not unified by location but by attention to tonal relationships: bright cloud edges against dark land, mist separating distant ridges, bare trees interrupting open horizons, and roads carrying the eye through spare country. Monochrome treatment emphasizes form without disconnecting the image from the character of the place.

Some works were conceived in black and white; others use monochrome to clarify a scene whose strongest elements are shape, contrast, or atmosphere. The gallery is a curated thematic view of existing photographs, with each image retaining its original artwork page and print options.
