Break the End

Break the End

Time gnaws our edges,
teeth leaving scars where we stood,
beautifully splintered

Don't leave me yet, breathe.
Let the air bruise between us,
a pause we won't hold.

A torn scrap remains,
paper frayed, you wrote my name,
your hand's restless mark.

A new raw stillness,
its pulse staggered, uneven-
you
will
always be loved.
