Cycles

I
It is not better to have lost love
To say so is a mental fraud
Who wants to lose a treasure
Or misplace a piece of their heart
It is better to have the spoils
Unbroken by rain

II
Eternal bliss is not for me
I am nothing without the fall
In our frailties we find courage
And claim a greater reward
To have conquered pain
To know the storm

III
What survives is not triumph
But the quiet sod of endurance
Where pain hibernates like seeds
Waiting for a sign that may not come
To break through darkness
And remember
