See

See

We who stare long at silence
Know its weight in winter wheat,
The way grief burrows deep
Like prairie roots, drawing strength
From what is lost.

My eyes hold drought years
And midnight storms, memories
Stored like dormant seeds.
I am not for gentle gardens,
But for surviving ground.
